Composite bonding is particularly good in younger patients and when the teeth are already healthy and aesthetic and when there are small gaps, chips or shape changes that need to be fixed.

Gum lifts are surprisingly painless. Of course local anaesthetic is used for the procedure but even when it wears off there is very little if any discomfort.

We use carefully applied local anesthetic for the most comfortable procedures possible. Even with the temporary “trial smile’ patients do not complain of any significant sensitivity.

Most smile makeovers can be done with veneers rather than crowns unless the
teeth are already crowned or if the teeth are very broken down. We would always rather preserve healthy tooth structure rather than preparing teeth more heavily for crowns.

Porcelain veneers are used to change the shape, colour, size and position of teeth.

They can also close spaces and align crowded teeth within reason. More crowded, protruding or spaced teeth would more likely need some form of orthodontic alignment first.

Assuming the teeth are healthy and reasonably well aligned, smile makeovers usually take as little as two weeks. However at Primo Dental, we offer a same day smile; we do everything in one place so there’s no prolonged waiting, so you can arrive and leave on the same day with a same day smile makeover.

These days, it is extremely rare for any kind of dental procedure to be performed under general anaesthetic (being asleep during treatment) and it’s solely for health and safety reasons.

There is no cause for concern, a local anaesthetic is always properly applied and well calculated, meaning that nothing will go wrong and we provide you with the best possible care and protocols throughout your dental procedure.

Tooth and gum reshaping is permanent, however through the use of veneers or other treatments, your look can be changed again if that’s what you want.

On the subject of veneers, they may require a small amount of enamel to be removed to improve their fit, and crowns or bridges require work on the natural tooth.
